New Promat slab: even more insulating

Suitable for use in renovation projects as well as in the construction of energy-efficient buildings, the Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF tile has excellent acoustic and thermal insulation qualities. Installed at floor level, it significantly reduces impact noise or the movement of furniture.

Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF: a floating dry screed with optimal insulation performance

Promat, leader in the manufacture and marketing of high-performance plate and spray insulation, is launching the process Promat®-SYSTEMFOOR 28WF, new generation acoustic and fire-resistant floating dry screed, ideal for all types of structures (including Low Energy Buildings).

This ingenious system is installed on a wooden floor or a RC slab and provides additional acoustic and thermal insulation. Thus, with excellent soundproofing in terms of impact noise (moving people, furniture, falling objects, etc.) and airborne noise (conversations, television, etc.), it improves sound reduction.

Promat®-SYSTEMFOOR 28WF consists of 2 thicknesses of stabilized magnesium mineral plates (Masterboard® M), glued together (2 times 9 mm) and a 10 mm layer of wood fiber fixed under the plates.

Supplied in 1200X600X28mm plates, it is intended to constitute a floating and insulating screed of perfect flatness on slabs or floors. Incombustible (classified A1), it has high fire resistance for a fire from above to below for wooden floors (REI 60) (Minutes being drafted).

Each board has a 50 mm reduction in width and length for a uniform, rigorous and consistent rebate assembly. This feature and its lightness (less than 15 kg) make it a particularly pleasant material for installation.

Its wear-resistant, smooth and robust surface resists shocks, punching, friction, humidity, mold, etc. and can be finished with carpet, parquet, or tiles.

The advantages of Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF:

 • High acoustic performance

• Low thickness

• Simple implementation

• High resistance to punching

Implementation characteristics:

• 1st step: separate the future screed Promat®SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF walls and posts by installing a separation strip which will ensure the independence of the screed and limit lateral acoustic transmission,

• 2nd step: remove the battens which rest on the walls so that the thickness of the Promat®SYSTEMFLOOR 28 WF remains the same in every way,

• 3rd step: during installation, each board will be secured to the next by the simultaneous application of a double bead of glue in the rebate (Promat®SYSTEMFLOOR glue). Dimensional adjustments are very easy to make by simply cutting using conventional tools (panel or circular saws).

The inertia of the material is almost zero and the robustness of its assembly/bonding allows the installation of partitions a few hours later.

Application cases of the Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF:

Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF was designed to ensure easy implementation, without any difficulty or risk of mishandling, as Alain Bartoux, Development Engineer at Promat, can testify. During the construction of new social housing in Caen, 200 m² of Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF were laid in the bedrooms and corridors in order to receive parquet or linoleum. Alain Bartoux emphasizes that the realization “was quick and easy because the installation instructions are just as quick!”

Promat®-SYSTEMFLOOR 28WF, acoustic solution, quick and easy to implement, is positioned as a major component of comfort, safety and insulation of floors for new constructions or during renovation operations.
