NEW BROOKLYN FIBERDECK DECK BOARDS
A composite wood with remarkable performance
Inspired by the natural beauty of wood, Fiberdeck, a specialist in new generation coextruded composite woods, has developed a new reversible profile with a choice of 2 useful sides - a smooth, brushed, matt side or a textured wood grain side -: the Brooklyn board.
Boasting unrivaled performance, Brooklyn deck boards guarantee excellent deck durability with minimal maintenance. They also offer excellent stain and fade resistance, lasting up to 15 years!
Accessible to the greatest number of people, Brooklyn blades also offer a magnificent rendering and a beautiful finish, with a multichromatic tint which guarantees that no two blades are alike.
FIBERDECK: The best of composite wood
A specialist in coextruded composite wood, Fiberdeck selects and masters the best technologies to ensure its products benefit from a high level of quality and exceptional performance, and guarantee durable works. Fiberdeck decking boards were developed by the world's leading composite wood specialists. The superior quality of its coextruded range is essentially based on the excellence of the raw materials used, the high-tech coextrusion implemented and the remarkable quality of the manufacturing processes.
High resistance to humidity, discoloration...
Fiberdeck's new Brooklyn blade benefits from proven coextrusion technology. The thin polyethylene film that covers the entire blade effectively protects the composite wood against water, stains (even the most stubborn) and any moisture absorption. The blade is water-repellent and very easy to maintain: Rainwater, pool water splashes or grease stains run off the surface without penetrating the material or leaving marks.
The co-extrusion process allows the Brooklyn blade to benefit from a 15-year warranty against stains and discoloration. The protective film, which contains anti-UV additives, limits any discoloration over time. The blades thus retain their original color for many years.
...and to everyday aggressions
The mixture of high-density polyethylene and wood fiber that makes up the core of the Brooklyn blade ensures very good resistance to shocks and wear.
Furthermore, they are highly resistant to insect attacks, termites and fungi, and are free from splinters, deformation or cracks.
Blades from the recycling sector
Honeycomb, Brooklyn Fiberdeck boards are made from 95% recycled raw materials and are also 100% recyclable.
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) comes from the recycling of plastic waste (plastic bottles, etc.) and wood fiber, sawdust from secondary processing companies such as furniture manufacturers.
FIBERDECK: Leader in coextruded composite wood technology
To solve the recurring problems of stains and discoloration of first-generation mono-extruded composite wood slats, Fiberdeck launched the first co-extruded product at the Batimat trade fair in 2009. It was a true revolution that shook up the world of composite wood.
The coextrusion process involves applying a very thin, molten high-density polyethylene (HDPE) film directly onto the composite wood. This waterproof film protects the wood from moisture absorption and stabilizes the material.
Reversible blades
Reversible, Brooklyn blades can be used on both sides: the smooth, brushed, matte side or the grained side which perfectly imitates the appearance of wood. They are available in 3 colors: Slate Gray, Concrete Gray and Teak.
Finishing blades to perfect the terrace
To complement the Brooklyn blades, Fiberdeck offers:
- a range of section plinths 10 x 84 mm grooved on one side and smooth on the other to create the terrace contours to a height of approximately 10 cm.
- a range of screw-on blades of identical section to Brooklyn blades, without groove on the 22,5 x 138 mm section edges, to create edges, stair steps, hoppers, or finishing bands around the terrace.
- an aluminum angle iron to ensure the peripheral outline of the terrace and hide the junction between 2 grooved blades.
Invisible fixing, easily removable
Brooklyn blades are secured with Cobra Hybrid 8-18 stainless steel clips. These new bi-material clips hold stainless steel screws in place during installation. The time saved during installation is therefore significant.
The boards fixed using these Cobra clips can be easily removed without having to uninstall the entire deck, which is very practical for being able to change a board or access under the deck if necessary.
