POLYS BÉTO ® AGGREGATE

What makes the difference? A polystyrene ball!

POLYS PRÊT® lightweight mortars are made by combining POLYS BÉTO® aggregate and ready-mix concrete. Replacing sand and gravel, POLYS BÉTO® is an aggregate of expanded virgin polystyrene beads with controlled particle size and coated with an additive.

POLYS BÉTO® aggregates do not come from crushed panels or recycled materials. The expansion of the polystyrene grains, obtained by steam treatment, produces hydrophobic, rot-proof beads that are insensitive to alkaline reactions. They are stabilized by storage in a silo for a minimum of 24 hours, before being coated with the EIA admixture.

This treatment prevents any segregation between balls and hydraulic binders and guarantees the homogeneity of the mixture. Implementation is then greatly facilitated.
Its foamy consistency allows for simple and effective application when leveling and/or creating flooring substrates, ready to directly receive glued tiles or other materials. POLYS PRÊT® 350 fibered can therefore be used for a large number of floorings, all those admissible in accordance with the rules of the art: glued or sealed tiles, floating parquet, laminate flooring, glued parquet, carpet, flexible flooring, etc.

Homogeneous and gray in color, the mortar is easy to work with and allows for flat surfaces to be obtained when simply pulled with a rule, with reduced drying times. Implementation is similar to the rules of NF DTU 26-2.

The reduction of traditional aggregates in favor of the addition of POLYS BÉTO® aggregate offers a reduction in density: POLYS PRÊT® 350 Fibré has a dry mortar density of less than 450 kg/m3.

This weight saving allows for the lightening of structures while retaining essential qualities of durability, thermal insulation (0,14 W/mK) and acoustics, both in collective buildings and individual houses, in new or renovation work.

POLYS PRÊT® 350 Fibered is intended for all floor covering supports, insulating and under-screed screeds, level corrections, slope shapes, thermal and acoustic insulation against impact noise, various fillings, etc.

Finally, its fibered characteristic acts at the heart of concretes and mortars to eliminate the anti-cracking welded mesh, increase mechanical resistance, improve cohesion and limit shrinkage cracking.
