Pump monitoring and control are relatively rare applications, although they allow you to monitor the proper functioning of pumps and avoid potential malfunctions that could lead to premature deterioration of the pump.

SALMON is addressing this shortcoming by launching the X-Care box, a protection module for monitoring high-efficiency pumps in the Nexis range. This module will ensure customers receive quality service and offer demanding service in terms of safety and operational continuity.   PRESENTATION   The X-Care box is the effective monitoring solution that allows, in real time, to monitor the proper functioning of the pumps and to quickly detect any malfunction in order to limit the impact on the pump and the process. Supplied as an option, the X-Care equips the new Nexis multistage pumps, without variable speed drive. The box is pre-configured, equipped with an integrated communication interface for a remote or wired network connection. The X-Care can then be directly connected to a control system for active protection from the start of the pump.    HOW IT WORKS   The X-Care has several integrated and configurable monitoring functions, including pump rotation direction, dry running, air detection, pressure, ambient temperature, operating hours, etc. The X-Care box monitors the pump via speed and pressure sensors. To ensure optimal protection, the pump and X-Care power supplies are separate, so the pump can operate without the box and vice versa. X-Care offers several configurable communication interfaces such as direct reading of operating and fault indicators on the front panel, communication via BMS/GTC, via an infrared key connection that plugs into a PC, or a wired CAN protocol bus connection for remote management. The box must be powered from 110 to 230Vac 50/60Hz. The ambient temperature must be between -10 and + 70°C and that of the fluids conveyed between -5 and + 120°C.   ADVANTAGES & BENEFITS   The X-Care box is an essential tool for monitoring the proper functioning of pumps; its advantages are numerous because: - it avoids the costs and work caused by breakdowns, and in particular the complete replacement of a pump, - it increases the safety of pumps and facilitates their maintenance, - it protects the mechanical seal and prevents its deterioration in the short term, - it allows targeted management, in real time but also remotely, of the operation of the equipment (pressure, temperatures, rotation, etc.), The X-Care box is an effective solution that offers an evolution in the daily maintenance of technical services. This module provides valuable skills and assistance by communicating immediately with the technician and allowing him to carry out a rapid diagnosis, in real time, for easier repairs.
