Exterior joinery reflects the spirit of the inhabitants. And their design is a matter of choice. Solid or openwork, colorful or understated, classic or contemporary... True trends of the moment, models with simple and refined louvered slats are a good compromise for hesitant homeowners. In 2020, Kostum unveiled two new slat sizes, offering three options for customizing your gate or fence.

Shutter blades are all the rage...

"What is a shutter slat? It's an inclined slat like traditional wooden shutter slats. Its purpose? To let air through while filtering the view. Thus, the shutter slat is openwork on the inside, protecting from outside views, while letting air pass between the slats and reducing wind resistance. It's a designer and contemporary solution that is increasingly requested by homeowners." Explain Jean-François Legault, Sales Director & Co-Director of Cadiou.

With the increase in windy weather in recent years, shuttered gate and fence models are increasingly in demand. 

The Kostum team has been working on the designs of their products and in 2020 are offering two new sizes of shutter blades: 2 mm and 75 mm. These complement the existing size (255 mm) and allow for the creation of more designs.

Individuals can therefore choose from a complete range of 8 gates and 3 shuttered fences: 

• Caban (gate) 75 mm louvered slats at the top and 150 mm solid slats at the bottom. Caban matches the Lemm fence.

• Kabig (gate) 130 mm louvered slats at the top and 150 mm solid slats at the bottom. Kabig matches the Litenn fence.

• Denez (gate) 75 mm louvered slats with crosspiece. Denez matches the Lemm fence.

• Lemm (gate & fence) 75 mm louvered slats without crosspiece.

• Litenn (gate & fence) 130 mm slats shutter without crosspiece.

• Kuzh (gate) 130 mm louvered slats with crosspiece. Kuzh matches the Litenn fence.

• Oils (gate) 255 mm louvered slats with crosspiece. Olier matches the Tev fence.

• To you (gate & fence) 255 mm slats shutter without crosspiece.
