Hospital program: MALERBA further expands its range of solutions
Summary for decision-makers
Summary for decision-makers
MALERBA's HOSPITAL Program offers innovative door sets for healthcare facilities. X-ray-resistant door sets (1 or 2 leaves, optional EI30 classification and 2 mm lead equivalent) protect patients and staff according to the NFC 15-160 standard. HYDRO door sets, P(S) certified after NF EN-16580 testing, are resistant to humidity and water splashes, meeting the needs of hospitals and public buildings.
MALERBA is also launching DAS glazed door units with motorized lintel pivot (EI30/EI60), promoting fire safety, access control and contactless opening, in compliance with EN 16005 standards. This range adapts to access management and the aging population, limits contact to improve hygiene and meets the growing demand in medical environments.
For over 10 years, MALERBA has been developing a portfolio of technical solutions to meet the specific challenges of healthcare establishments.
MALERBA's latest innovations for safe and efficient hospital environments
This project, dubbed the HOSPITALIER Program, combines a comprehensive range of products and services and aims to contribute to the development of safer, more comfortable, more sustainable, and more aesthetically pleasing healthcare environments. Discover MALERBA's latest advances in this area.
A complete range of X-ray-proof door blocks
MALERBA announces the development of a complete range of X-ray-resistant door sets to equip radiology and radiotherapy rooms to effectively protect patients and staff from X-rays. Available in 1 and 2 leaves, with or without EI30 fire resistance classification, these door sets are offered with a lead equivalent of 2 mm for calculation according to the NFC 15-160 standard. They thus cover a wide spectrum of needs, both in medical office rooms and hospital premises.
To effectively protect against X-rays, these 4 anti-X-ray door sets consist of a wooden leaf (45 mm thick with insulating core), a rigid frame, two facings each incorporating a 1 mm thick lead sheet covering the entire surface of the leaf and an intumescent seal in the upper crosspiece. They also include a wooden frame with a minimum section of 88 x 58 mm with intumescent seal and 2 mm lead sheet as well as joint covers with 2 mm lead sheet. Available with a choice of pre-painted, laminated or veneered finishes, these MALERBA door sets can be enhanced with PVC facing protection and glazed inspection windows with anti-X-ray glazing.
David PALMERO, Sales Director of MALERBA, concludes: "And the innovation doesn't stop there, as we will soon be adding X-ray-resistant glass frames to this range."
Water-resistant doors, proven by testing
In order to certify the resistance of its HYDRO doors to humidity and water splashes, MALERBA has subjected them to the tests defined by the NF EN-16580 standard. Remember that this standard sets the performance characteristics applicable to pedestrian doors exposed to long periods of humidity and/or frequent water splashes.
MALERBA HYDRO doors have been tested for resistance to water splashes, which is the most stringent test in the standard. This test subjects the door to water sprays on numerous occasions and ends with the bottom of the door being completely submerged to a height of 10 mm for 1 hour. As MALERBA HYDRO doors have been successfully tested, the entire HYDRO range benefits from the "P(S)" classification.
David PALMERO, Sales Director MALERBA, specifies that "Achieving these results formally accredits the water resistance performance of all our HYDRO doors, which are increasingly in demand in hospitals and, more generally, in establishments open to the public. This information provides peace of mind to clients, while facilitating their decision-making."
A complete range of DAS glazed door blocks with motorized lintel pivot
To reconcile fire safety, ease of use, and access control, MALERBA is launching a complete range of glazed fire-resistant door sets equipped with motorized T5 PLM pivot lintels, with EI30 and EI60 fire resistance ratings. These innovative products (Previewed at the Artibat 2025 trade fair) They open automatically in any direction of traffic and meet a growing demand, particularly in healthcare facilities. They thus enrich the range of wooden door sets launched two years earlier, offering the added advantage of being largely glazed.
Primarily designed to compartmentalize corridors in commercial buildings, these CMSI-connected door units are particularly recommended for equipping controlled access areas where two-way traffic is essential. Indeed, these new products open automatically without having to touch the leaves, in both directions of traffic or in opposition. They thus combine the advantages of a double-action door unit (indifferent direction of traffic) and a door unit with an opening/closing operator (automatic opening on approach), without contact (thus limiting the spread of nosocomial diseases while facilitating maintenance). Often kept in the closed position, they are generally equipped with a locking device for emergency exits. They thus play a decisive role in access management by making it possible to create restricted access and traffic zones in order to control entrances and/or exits, while ensuring compliance with fire regulations.
Please note that in addition to their motorized lintel pivot system and in accordance with the specifications of standard EN 16005 "Motorized pedestrian door sets - Safety in use", these door sets are equipped with flatscans type obstacle stop devices. A safety feature that prevents any risk of crushing and shearing when opening or closing the leaves. Note that the range consists of glazed wooden door sets with 1 leaf and 2 leaves with fire resistance classification EI30 and EI60 and that these references are DAS available on wooden frames, validated over wide dimensional ranges and equipped with T5 PLM motorized lintel pivot force 3-4-5.
David PALMERO, Sales Director of MALERBA, specifies that "There are several reasons for the current interest in motorized door units. For example, we can cite the aging population and disability situations, which are increasingly being taken into account, as well as the development of the use of automated robots and, of course, the issue of surface hygiene. Moreover, since the COVID period, we have noticed that the desire to avoid all contact with doors is becoming more entrenched."
Frequently Asked Questions for Decision Makers
