Promat selected to provide fire protection for a school

The Emilie du Chatelet hotel school, located in Seine-et-Marne, will eventually welcome nearly 1000 students. Designed with a sustainable development approach and in compliance with HQE standards, it must ensure the safety of students in the event of a fire. To achieve this, Promat fire-resistant panels were selected.

10 m² of MASTERIMPACT®-RH PROMAT provides passive fire protection for the kitchens of the Emilie du Châtelet hotel school

Promat, leader in the manufacture and marketing of materials for passive fire protection, thermal and acoustic insulation, is currently participating in the construction of the future Emilie du Châtelet hotel school in Serris (Seine et Marne) with the supply of 10 m² of panels MASTERIMPACT ®- HR.

Located in the ZAC of the urban center of Val d'Europe, the establishment will welcome, at the start of the 2010 academic year, more than 900 students in the general, technological and professional education sectors of the hotel and catering sector.

With a surface area of 14 m² SHON spread over 350 levels, the Emilie du Châtelet hotel school is part of an exemplary ecological approach meeting high environmental quality (HQE) standards. Particular attention has been paid to this aspect in order to meet the requirements of comfort, quality of life and safety. Thus, it will be equipped with a wood-fired boiler room, high-performance sound and thermal insulation. Not to mention the installation of large bay windows to let in a maximum of light, green roofs, a rainwater collection basin for watering green spaces and the possible installation of a wind turbine on the building.

With experience and know-how recognized by all professionals, Promat, the market leader in moisture-resistant fire-resistant panels, was chosen by the company Plâtres Modernes JOBIN to ensure compartmentalization in MASTERIMPACT®-RH from the two kitchens, that of the high school and that of the apprenticeship.

This large-scale project required the installation of 10 m² of partition walls MASTERIMPACT®-RH with respective dimensions of 1 x 200 mm and 2 x 500 mm in 1 mm thickness, fixed on a metal frame and capable of providing 200 hour of fire protection.
