The Paul Baldit multi-sport sports complex (boxing, weight training, tennis, squash, dance) in Romainville (93), currently undergoing a major transformation, is about to be completed. MAF Atlantique has been chosen for the redevelopment of a former caretaker's accommodation into a reception area, changing rooms, and restrooms. In other words, the project involves gaining more land to provide more comfort and space for athletes.

Maf Atlantique is fitting the interior of the Romainville (93) sports complex with fire-resistant wooden glass doors as part of its transformation

For aesthetic reasons, the architectural firm, which is involved in the entire transformation project, chose wood as a material to structure the glass surfaces.

This is how the architect describes the "new" sports complex: "Large interior bay windows offer long depths of field and visually link the major functions together, such as the reception hall, the multi-sports hall, the boxing area, and the clubhouse. The large hall dedicated to team sports offers players and spectators a panoramic view of the Ile aux Loisirs park and the Plaine de France. This establishment was designed under the influence of the beautiful forms of the 19th century, but also under the rigor of tomorrow's environmental awareness...".

Recognized skills for leading wood construction sites

MAF Atlantique, by involving its design office in the project, ensured the design and synthesis of the works under site notice. The company produced fire-resistant glazed wood joinery, i.e. 150 m² of EI2 partitions and 60 E5 doors.

Vetrotech Saint Gobain, MAF Atlantique's partner for the glazing part, supplied fire protection glass solutions (classified 1(B)1 according to standard EN 12600) which, thanks to the quality of their tempering, are also capable of resisting impacts, particularly balloons in the case of this project.

Claude Levresse, Sales and Technical Director at Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, adds that "to take full advantage of the specific benefit of glazed solutions, which is the optimization of natural light, we supply glazed solutions (glazing from the CONTRAFLAM LITE 30, CONTRAFLAM 60-3 and CONTRAFLAM STRUCTURE 60 ranges) capable of withstanding exposure to UV rays 2,5 times longer than the standard requirement."

Claude Levresse also specifies, regarding the integration of these joinery in the overall architecture, that "it is a resolutely contemporary approach favoring the contribution of light through an architectural eco-design combining the use of wood and glass. Our technical-commercial teams worked for the perfect integration of our glazing in this environment, guaranteeing the desired aesthetic, while ensuring flawless fire protection."
