Report - House extension

Given the existing and existing surface area, a building permit application was required. Archibel, an experienced extension design firm, handled this process for the client. Architect Isabelle Anger designed a project that seamlessly integrated this substantial new volume (130 m²) into the original house. The house's architecture is symmetrical and characterized by different volumes: a central volume with a 2-sided roof and secondary volumes clad in a roof terrace. The new design creates a white architectural frame that echoes the color of the existing facade, and clad transoms complement the secondary volumes of the home. The projecting roofline allows for the height differences to be integrated.     How is the connection made between the house and the extension?   The extension fits into the void formed by the “L” shape of the existing building. Communication is via the bay windows of the living rooms (including one window transformed into a bay window) and the two bedrooms of this "L". To bring light to the two bedrooms now overlooking the extension, two 1 x 1m skylights were created in the pool area. As for the technical room, it is integrated into the extension, in the side service strip also including the shower and the mini-bar. To combine aesthetics and practicality, an indirect lighting LED strip (8 x 2m) integrated into the ceiling draws a rectangle echoing the shape of the pool; also, wall lights and recessed spotlights provide a subdued atmosphere in the evening.   Owner's word "I trusted the Cybel Extension-Archibel duo for their expertise in expansion. My indoor pool project was very specific and I wouldn't have found it in a home builder's catalog! The result is there, the promises are kept, and although the construction site was slightly delayed due to the current situation, I recommend them without hesitation – and I already have!"     An ambitious project delivered “turnkey”   Alexandre Lecoeur, general contractor for the Cybel Extension agency in Vannes, led this ambitious project through to completion. He coordinated the entire project, both structural and finishing work. He planned everything, from the installation of the joinery to the installation of the acoustic insulation (a stretch ceiling to avoid noise resonance, particularly from the audio system installed by the owner), including the installation of the luminous ceiling and skylights.
