Rf-Technologies, European manufacturer of fire-resistant solutions, innovates with KAMOUFLAGE

Rf-Technologies, a European manufacturer of fire-stopping solutions for compartmentation and smoke extraction, is launching Kamouflage, the first product in the K System range, with no visible facade grille, in response to the needs for architectural integration in public buildings and the constraints of fire safety, efficiency and maintenance of smoke extraction shutters.

Kamouflage, a new smoke extraction shutter with a wicket door for the commercial and multi-family sectors, has received the Janus de l'Industrie 2012 label. Awarded by the French Institute of Design, the Janus de l'Industrie recognizes both the design of Kamouflage and the functionality of this shutter, which, thanks to its minimalist facade, blends discreetly into the building. The Janus 2012 jury appreciated the design and aesthetic approach of this Rf-Technologies product, even though it is subject to strict technical and regulatory constraints.

Security with complete discretion

The cover plate and the aluminum profile are coverable: the Kamouflage shutter can become invisible in the wall where it is installed. In addition, the insulation layer located behind the cover plate and the seal provide reinforced thermal insulation that contributes to meeting the objectives set by the 2012 Thermal Regulations and BBC construction. The ergonomics of the shutter make it very accessible and facilitate its maintenance and upkeep. The fire resistance of Kamouflage shutters reaches 60 or 120 minutes, in compliance with the new European standards applicable from February 2013.

Attached to the back of the cover plate, a layer of insulation provides a thermal gain of more than 30% compared to solutions equipped with a covering grid currently available on the market.

All mechanical opening components are integrated into the thickness of the shutter, available in 1-leaf or 2-leaf versions.

Implementation and characteristics

Kamouflage's ergonomics make it easy to install, regardless of the site's constraints. It is fixed using 4 standard screws in a concrete or lightweight material wall (silico-limestone or staff conduit, etc.).

Once painted or covered with a wallpaper-like covering, Kamouflage requires no additional maintenance. The absence of visible grilles eliminates dust accumulation and also reduces maintenance and upkeep costs.

To further enhance personal safety, a hinged anti-fall grille can be installed in the hopper using a pre-sealed frame. This grille easily deploys into the duct and provides an invisible solution for securing low shutters.
