Salmson expands its service offering: launch of SELECSON 3, a pump determination tool

Paris, December 14, 2009

Committed to providing optimized solutions to its customers, Salmson, a major player in the field of pumps and pumping systems, is constantly developing its service offering aimed at simplifying the daily activity of its customers (distributors, installers and design offices).

With SELECSON 3, Salmson continues to support its customers in determining the best-suited products for each installation configuration. The tool brings together nearly 5 product lines, belonging to 000 main application areas: Supply - Pressure Boosting / Climate Engineering / Lifting - Sanitation. It has an intuitive and user-friendly interface, accessible in 3 languages: French / English / Italian / Spanish.

The SELECSON 3 has been configured for ease of use and rapid access to the information sought.

Supports:

- A software version is developed with a CD for installation on computers.

The database can be updated regularly via the Internet. The software used (VSX Spaix Classic V2) is the standard on the pump manufacturer market. This CD will be available from January 2010.

- An "online" version is now accessible from the website www.salmson.com or at the following address: http://selecson.salmson.fr

The Internet version and the software are accompanied by an installation guide providing information on the features and configuration of the SELECSON 3.

Main functionalities:

Guided through all stages of the selection process, the user has multiple criteria to refine their choice: hydraulic data, field of application, product name or reference. The interface to help determine the operating point includes the following parameters: flow rate, height, pressure losses, fluid type. Hydraulic simulation can be carried out with a single pump or several pumps connected in parallel to simulate a real installation. For convenience, the data sheets can be saved in PDF format and printed.

Men: Commitment to Service

By dialing 0 820 000 444 (Indigo number), a customer gains access to a full range of services: technical hotline, expert service, consumer service (service.conso@salmson.fr), on-site interventions (troubleshooting, commissioning assistance and installation diagnostics), spare parts service (more than 35,000 references available).

o Field intervention:

National coverage managed by a centralized planning center centralizes all requests, coordinates personnel and equipment, and optimizes missions. All applications are covered by our interventions.

o Expertise and repair:

All feedback is assessed in the workshops located at the heart of the Laval (Mayenne) production site. A large database allows for cross-referencing of experiences and ensures personalized support, taking into account the installations, the fluid transported, and the conditions of use.
A technical unit ensures that all customer feedback is capitalized on and provides a single point of contact to answer questions and track shipments. The workshops, divided into nine application zones over 9 m², are equipped with inspection and testing equipment that allows for analysis of the entire range.

Returns and repairs are assessed by personnel specifically trained in the various product lines. They provide on-site support to after-sales technicians three times a year to better understand the challenges faced in the field.
