Salmson presents the Ixens: High-efficiency in-line pump

Salmson, a major player in the field of pumps and pumping systems, unveiled its new In-Line pump at the Interclima trade fair in February 2012. It is equipped with a high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor with an IE4* energy rating.

This range is designed to transport hot or chilled water (temperature range: from –20°C to +140°C, depending on the nature of the fluid) in the building sector and in industrial environments.
 
Salmson energy performance ahead of ErP regulatory deadlines

The European Ecodesign Directive (ErP) is the new regulation that, within the framework of CE marking, applies to products whose use is related to energy. It aims to improve the energy efficiency of products and protect the environment.

The European Commission has established a timetable to gradually impose increasingly efficient class motors (for non-submersible, three-phase pumps only):

-June 16, 2011  IE 2** (0,75 kW ≤ Motor Power ≤ 375 kW).
-January 1, 2015 to IE 3** or IE 2** + VEV*** (7,5 kW ≤ Engine Power ≤ 375 kW).
-January 1, 2017 to IE 3** or IE 2** + VEV*** (0,75 kW ≤ Engine Power ≤ 375 kW).

Equipped with motors with an energy performance index higher than IE 4*, the new Ixens range therefore far exceeds the current and future requirements imposed by the ErP directive.

The advantages of the Ixens range

Technological innovations for high performance

-The Ixens is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, displaying higher efficiency than the IE4*.

-Electronic speed variation combined with permanent magnet motor technology allows very high efficiency to be maintained, even under partial load, which allows for significant energy savings1.

-Specific hydraulics have been designed to work in total synergy with this new engine technology.
A compact design

- Weight and height have been reduced by 55% and 39%2 respectively for easier transportation and installation.     

User-friendly

-The LCD screen and rotary knob allow you to quickly view the operating parameters (setpoint adjustment, DeltaPV, DeltaPC operation, etc.).

Communication with the GTC

-The IF module can be plugged into the control box, it does not require an intermediate external gateway.

-The module is powered directly from the control box.

-IF modules are available and are compatible with our other LRE/JRE and SIE/DIE In-Line pump ranges.
