Salmson treats water in Morocco
To treat Morocco's wastewater, Salmson was asked to design several treatment plants to collect domestic and industrial wastewater, as well as wastewater from the Nouasseur airport. These projects were achieved through the joint work of Biwater for the plants and Salmson for the agitators.

SALMSON & BIWATER equip Morocco
As part of the partnerships that are regularly established between the Key Accounts & Prescription unit of the Water Cycle department of SALMON et BIWATER - major global challenger in the water industry - two treatment plants, designed by Biwater and equipped with pumps and agitators SALMSON, will see the light of day in Morocco.
TWO PROJECTS: NOUASSEUR & BENSLIMANE
During 2008, ONDA - National Office of Airports of Morocco - awarded the company BIWATER, the call for tenders for the design and construction of a wastewater treatment plant on the Nouasseur airport platform.
The Nouasseur plant, which will be commissioned this year, will collect and treat two types of effluent. One, domestic wastewater from nearby populated areas, corresponding to 31 population equivalents with a capacity of 800 m3/day. The other, consisting of more heavily laden or more aggressive water, coming from the international industrial and economic platform of the Nouasseur aeropolis as well as effluent from its airport.
This second group corresponds to 14 population equivalents with a capacity of 400 m1/day. Nouasseur Airport is one of the largest in Africa with 400 million passengers/year.
ONDA, the project owner, was very satisfied with the work carried out and the products SALMON implemented. Thus for the second project which plans a second station still in the airport zone but this time for the rapidly developing town of Benslimane, located 60 km east of Casablanca; BIWATER, reassured by the satisfaction of its customer, has renewed its collaboration with SALMON for the station's pump and agitator equipment.
At the Benslimane site, the second treatment plant is configured for a fairly high inlet flow rate, with a volume of 20 population equivalents for 000 m3/day. It should be operational during the second half of 000.
In order to carry out these two operations SALMON is currently delivering a first part of the following equipment and systems which will be distributed across the two different sites: 15 new TR agitators and their accessories, 16 FA pumps and their accessories, 1 new generation Alti-Nexis booster with very high efficiency as well as 16 SBF pumps and their accessories.
Given the quality of the partnership that binds SALMON à BIWATER, constructive exchanges between these companies during previous projects as well as the efficient collaboration carried out both for the preliminary technical studies and during the ONDA call for tenders, it appears that this partnership is a real success. SALMON et BIWATER are already working on new international production projects.
