The "3 Minutes for Life" awareness campaign is running until December 2010, 100, in vocational training centers (CFA) in each department. Aimed at apprentices and their masters, it aims to prevent risks in the construction industry: musculoskeletal disorders, falls from heights, road hazards, drugs, and alcohol.

Raising awareness among apprentices in the construction and public works sector about the risks of their professions, from the start of their careers, and making prevention a reflex, is the objective of the new campaign. 100 minutes for life organized by the OPPBTP in partnership with the CCCA-BTP and intended for all CFA without exclusivity.

Partners since 2005, the Professional Building and Public Works Prevention Organization and the Construction Apprenticeship Consultation and Coordination Committee extended their partnership agreement on April 1, 2010, in favor of health and safety at work in construction trade apprenticeships.

In this context, the OPPBTP and the CCCA-BTP are organizing a new campaign 100 minutes for life in the CFA which will take place from October 18 to 3 December 2010. In total 92 CFA throughout France, or more than 25 apprentices, mainly first-year, and 000 teams, notably made up of OPPBTP advisors, will participate in nearly 16 events.

A new focus in 2010: this campaign is aimed at first-year apprentices. In fact, during the very first weeks of their apprenticeship, young people will attend a 100-minute event. To capture their attention, the event takes the form of a television show, hosted by an actor and an OPPBTP advisor. The main risks associated with workplace accidents will be addressed in a fun and interactive manner: falls from heights, MSDs (musculoskeletal disorders), road hazards, and those related to alcohol and drug use.

The key prevention messages, delivered very early in initial training, will be repeated throughout the apprentices' course by the teaching teams and will also be carried by the apprenticeship supervisors who, through the OPPBTP and CCCA-BTP partnership, will regularly receive practical information.

This operation is also conducted in partnership with Pro BTP (construction mutual insurance) and SIST-BTP (inter-company construction occupational health services).

A website dedicated to the operation explains the issues and the progress of the campaign, and includes a schedule of interventions city by city.
