SFA celebrates the silence of its Marine Range at the helm of the organization of the 12m JI World Championship

Let us recall that the world leader in sanitary equipment, SFA, has long been involved in sailing events, through a commitment that takes several forms. In terms of nautical sports, SFA is thus involved in offshore racing at the highest level: the iconic Sovereign monohull in the SFA colors notably won the America's Cup Jubilee race and the World Championship in 2001. It is this precious silence that you will be able to come and appreciate, in real conditions, aboard the legendary Sovereign, docked throughout the event from June 17 to 23.

Heading for a partnership and an event that hoists the mainsail high!

LThe SFA group has therefore joined forces with the Yacht Club de Porquerolles to organize the 12 2024m JI World Championship: a week of regattas in the harbor of Hyères, from June 17 to 23, with around twenty boats expected and more than 10 nations represented. This exceptional event has not taken place in France for many years and is establishing itself as a real event from a sporting but also cultural point of view. Indeed, the 12m JI (the first of which was built in 1907 and admitted to the Summer Olympic Games from 1908), racing yachts designed by the greatest naval architects in the world1, have truly built the Formula 1 circuit of the sea!

Claude Perdriel, president of the SFA Group, confides: "CIt is truly anything but a coincidence that SFA has decided to support the 12m JI World Championship. Beyond the pleasure of being in the fabulous setting of Porquerolles Island, it is also a real nod to our history for our company. It is a return to our roots in a way. A little over 20 years ago, in 2001 to be precise, SFA was a major player in this type of legendary race. It was notably with the monohull, Sovereign, which will be present for the occasion, that we won the America's Cup Jubilee race and the World Championship. Rediscovering this atmosphere for a few days is undoubtedly the assurance of experiencing rare, exceptional moments... We had to be there alongside our friends from the Porquerolles Yacht Club to vibrate with all the sea enthusiasts who will take part in this event".
