Transfer shutter and fire dampers, high fire resistance and quick to install

In public buildings, smoke extraction systems are mandatory to ensure the safety of property and people. These fire-resistant devices prevent the spread of fire and stop smoke and combustion gases.

A major player in the market, PANOL designs and markets products related to fire protection and ventilation for collective and tertiary housing. This year, The manufacturer is launching new technical solutions for smoke extraction and compartmentalization with the AXIO range.

With seven references, the new AXIO range includes a new AXIO-T transfer damper for smoke extraction, and six new circular and rectangular fire dampers for compartmentalization. They have undergone numerous European standards compliance tests and laboratory tests to attest to their performance in terms of fire resistance and sealing.

These fire protection solutions are intended for smoke extraction and compartmentalization of ERP (Public Access Buildings), IGH (High-Rise Buildings) and 4th family collective housing.

New AXIO-C and AXIO-R fire dampers
Class C waterproofing - Quick to install, with minimal pressure losses

The new AXIO fire dampers from PANOL have been designed for installation in ventilation ducts that pass through fire-tight partitions or floors, to prevent the ducts from carrying and spreading smoke and fire in the event of a fire. They restore the fire resistance and smoke tightness of the wall through which the duct passes. The dampers are distinguished by their degree of fire resistance, their aeraulic qualities and their ease of installation thanks to their removable terminal blocks. They allow installation in any position with a horizontal or vertical blade axis.

Fire-resistant up to 2 hours (EI120S), the AXIO range of fire dampers are CE marked and NF certified. Depending on the project and regulations, they can be equipped with various types of mechanisms. Combining airflow and acoustic performance, they are airtightness class C according to the EN1751 standard.

NEW CIRCULAR FIRE DAMPERS
AXIO-C RECESSED / AXIO-C FDP RECESSED

The circular fire dampers AXIO-C Encastré and AXIO-C FDP Encastré PANOL have been tested in accordance with standards EN 1366-2 and EN 13501-3 and classified under depression of 500 pascals (PA) in walls and slabs made of cellular concrete, plasterboard or reinforced concrete.

High resistance and quick to install, The AXIO-C Recessed has been designed and optimized for medium and large diameter ducts - 200 to 800 mm - and in reduced spaces. As for the AXIO-C FDP Recessed, it has been developed for small diameter ducts (100 to 315 mm) and reduced installation spaces. It thus minimizes the pressure losses created by the through flow.

The AXIO-C Recessed works with 2 types of mechanisms located outside the partition. They are easily interchangeable, even on existing installations. The compact AUTO mechanism is self-controlled and interchangeable. The EVO mechanism is self-controlled and scalable, allowing the triggering and resetting of the valve to be configured according to the needs of the site. The AXIO-C FDP Recessed works with 3 types of mechanisms: AUTO, EVO and BASIC, a more compact, non-scalable self-controlled mechanism.

These two models consist of a frame made of galvanized carbon steel sheet, a closing blade made of refractory material, and a thermo-expandable graphite seal on the inside of the tunnel. The AXIO-C FDP Recessed also has a cold smoke seal.
These two valves close automatically as soon as the temperature in the duct exceeds 2°C.

NEW RECTANGULAR FIRE DAMPERS
AXIO-R RECESSED / AXIO-R FDP RECESSED / AXIO-R WALL MOUNTED

The rectangular fire dampers AXIO-R Recessed, AXIO-R FDP Recessed and AXIO-R Surface-mounted PANOL are compliant with standards EN 1366-2 and EN 13501-3, and fire resistance classification under depression of 500 pascals (PA) in walls and slabs.

The AXIO-R Recessed fits into medium and large diameter ducts - 200 x 200 mm up to 1500 x 800 mm - and reduced installation spaces. For ducts with smaller diameters - 100 x 200 mm up to 800 x 600 mm - PANOL has designed the AXIO-R FDP Recessed and the AXIO-R Wall-mounted, which generate low pressure losses.

These 3 AXIO-R models work with the interchangeable self-controlled AUTO mechanism or the scalable self-controlled EVO mechanism. The AXIO-R FDP Recessed and AXIO-R Wall versions also work with a 3rd mechanism, the non-scalable self-controlled BASIC.
The 3 valves close automatically as soon as the temperature in the duct exceeds 70°.

The AXIO-R Applique allows rapid implementation without sealing. It attaches directly to a wall.

The AXIO-R Recessed damper has a half-pipe box made of galvanized carbon steel sheet sandwiched by a mineral fiber gasket. The AXIO-R FDP Recessed and the AXIO-R Surface-mounted have a tunnel made of galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel sheet, a cold flue seal, a thermo-expandable graphite seal and a manual reset lever. The closing blade is made of refractory material for all models.

NEW RECTANGULAR FIRE DAMPERS
AXIO-R 1500

The rectangular fire damper AXIO-R 1500 PANOL, also conforms to standards EN 1366-2 and EN 13501-3, and offers a fire resistance classification under a depression of 1500 pascals (PA).

It has been designed to fit into medium and large diameter ducts - 200 x 200 mm up to 1200 x 800 mm - and reduced installation spaces.

It only works with the EVO mechanism, which is self-controlled and scalable. The valve closes automatically as soon as the temperature exceeds 70°.

The AXIO-R 1500 is a box with half-ducts made of galvanized carbon steel sheet interposed by a mineral fiber gasket. The closing blade is made of refractory material.

New AXIO-T Transfer Shutter
Approved EI60 - E120 with indifferent air sense

The new AXIO-T transfer shutter from PANOL is part of the smoke extraction systems in high-rise buildings and 4th-family collective housing. This guillotine shutter serves as an air supply for the corridor on the airlock side. The movable part closes to prevent the spread of fire between the corridor and the airlock leading to the stairs. The AXIO-T transfer shutter allows for optimized air passage and ensures easy implementation because the direction of installation for the passage of air is indifferent.

Validated under 150 cycles, AXIO-T is qualified as an E60 fire barrier without a cladding grille and EI60 with a cladding grille according to the new standard EN 13501-2:2016. NF certified, it has been tested according to the European standard NF S61937-1 and S61937-11. It also complies with standards EN 1634-1 and is classified E60, EI60 to E120 (in both directions of fire).

The shutter is open in the standby position and closes automatically (safety position) as soon as the temperature of the eutectic alloy thermal fuse is higher than 70°C. Resetting is carried out using handles machined into the movable panel.

With a surface area of 60 dm2 and a reduced depth, AXIO-T is easy to install. It can be embedded in reinforced concrete, aerated concrete or 100 mm plasterboard tiles. and quickly attaches to the wall using 4 brackets, without adding silicone.

For perfect integration into the architecture of the building, PANOL offers a wide choice of grids (optional) to come and dress the AXIO-T transfer shutter. Made of galvanized steel or anodized aluminum, they can be painted to match interiors.

Made in France and of high quality, the AXIO-T transfer shutter consists of a galvanized steel sheet frame forming slides, a fixed panel made of refractory material in the upper part and a movable leaf made of refractory material which slides in the slides of the galvanized steel sheet frame.
