SPX Hydraulic Technologies - PE 8: The first ultra-light electric high-pressure pump

SPX Bolting Systems is launching a new electric pump capable of delivering a pressure of 1 Bars and designed to meet the requirements of the wind industry: minimal weight, very high rotation level and continuous effort despite high temperatures.

Each wind turbine contains between 800 and 1 bolts; checking their tightness is a huge and time-consuming task. The P000 electric pump developed by SPX Bolting Systems was specifically designed for wind turbine tensioners and uses proven technology in terms of reliability.

Its compact shape and minimal weight (20,6 kg), unmatched on the electric pump market, make it an easily transportable piece of equipment and particularly suited to the confined spaces of a wind turbine nacelle.

The PE 8 pump can also be easily operated remotely, thanks to its low power consumption and the detachable cable of its remote control (length: 5 meters). The very high resistance of the transmission gives the PE 8 an exceptional lifespan, allowing it to manage rapid and repeated use cycles.

While other high-pressure electric pumps aren't designed to withstand continuous stress, the PE 8 stands up to it brilliantly. This lightweight pump has been tested to over 100 cycles at temperatures ranging from -000°C to +25°C.

Finally, the PE 8 is equipped with a highly efficient Universal Motor, which gives it superior performance while offering significant energy savings (around 20%). Two versions of the pump are available, the first 115 volts, and the second 230 volts.

Developed to ensure user safety, the PE 8 is equipped with an easily adjustable control valve.
