Equatio System: thermal and economical floor solution for RT 2012
The new requirements
The house of tomorrow must be a low-energy house.
The Thermal Regulation 2012 (RT2012) aims to limit the energy consumption of new buildings. All new constructions must have a primary energy consumption (before transformation and transport) of less than 50 kWh/m2/year, compared to approximately 150 kWh/m2/year under RT2005.
The floor, the most relevant adjustment variable for RT 2012
To achieve the level required by the new Thermal Regulations at the best cost, RECTOR offers building professionals the EQUATIO system, a global approach to treating each source of heat loss. In fact, there are 4 main sources of heat loss at floor level:
- thermal bridges on the periphery of the floor
- thermal bridges on the periphery of the lower floor
- thermal bridges on the underside of the floor
- surface heat losses from the lower floor
Achieve the RT2012 performance level simply and effectively
The approach EQUATION® consists of treating thermal bridges on the periphery and underside of the floor as a priority, before improving the thermal performance of the interjoist.
To effectively meet very high performance requirements, the lower floors must have thermal breaks both on the periphery and on the underside.
We will have to get used to treating vertical and horizontal connections differently from a thermal perspective, while maintaining mechanical strength. This translates in particular into anchor reinforcements on walls parallel to the beams.
A complete offer adapted to each situation and at the best cost
low floor EQUATION : Beams Rector + Floor RECTOSTEN® + proofreaders THERMOSTEN® + correctorsTHERMOREFEND
This system offers an optimized overall thermal solution: thanks to the wide range of RECTOSTEN ® joists , and the addition of THERMOSTEN ® and THERMOREFEND ® elements , overall performance is achieved at the best cost and adjusted to the needs of different climatic zones!
EQUATIO, a global solution for low floors
A recognized specialist in flooring, Rector offers EQUATION® a new approach through the creation of low insulating floors. Because the sources of heat loss in floors are interdependent, EQUATION® optimizes the complementarity of its components by taking into account their interlocking.
Five complementary components for unmatched performance
The RECTOR beam
Safety guaranteed on the construction site.
Easy handling for optimized implementation.
Range of CSTBât certified beams.
The RECTOSTEN interjoist
The RECTOSTEN interjoist has been specially designed to accommodate thermal bridge treatment elements on the periphery and underside of the floor. Combined with RECTOR beams and THERMOSTEN and THERMOREFEND thermal correctors, they constitute a comprehensive solution for low floors, with unrivaled thermal performance: the EQUATIO range of insulating floors.
Under Technical Notice No. 3/10-643, the RECTOSTEN interjoist is CSTBât certified. RECTOSTEN is available in an M1 decor version.
THERMOSTEN thermal bridge breakers
THERMOSTEN end and edge thermal breakers correct thermal bridges at the periphery of lower floors. They simply fit into the RECTOSTEN interjoist. With a useful height of 5 cm, THERMOSTEN thermal breaks clip onto the RECTOSTEN interjoist, at the end or edge. Solution under Technical Notice No. 20/06-111.
THERMOREFEND thermal bridge correctors
The THERMOREFEND bridge corrector treats the thermal bridge between the floor and the partition wall.
Nested within the RECTOSTEN interjoist, it guarantees continuity of insulation between these two elements as well as permeability at the floor-wall junction. It has been cleverly designed to also be able to insulate beams in crawl spaces.
RECTOCONNECT
New Equatio accessory for processing false center distances
An essential accessory, the RECTOCONNECT, combined with the RECTOSTEN interlocking block, allows you to reduce the width of the interlocking blocks at the end of the bay, and thus deal with false center distances.
The RECTOCONNECT ensures:
• thermal performance respected by EQUATIO floors.
• management of the width of the joist.
• mechanical resistance of RECTOSTEN retained for total safety of implementation.
SIMPLE, FAST AND ACCURATE IMPLEMENTATION
Safety and sealing when pouring
The installation plan and interlocking assembly facilitate installation, for a guaranteed and watertight result during pouring. RSE beams provide the safety linked to the technique of prestressed, fretted concrete, a RECTOR specificity. Reversible left to right and adaptable to beams, THERMOREFEND allows for rapid and complete correction of bridges on the underside.
More space under the floor
With EQUATIO, the interjoist tongues are reduced. This reduction provides more space for pipes, access to the crawl space, and the creation of technical voids.
ACCESSORIES FOR ALL CONFIGURATIONS
• Raised
Risers are available for large span floors. These have the same interlocking options as THERMOSTEN.
• Lining tab
In the case of beam doubling, specific tabs are used to fill the space at the beam heels.
• Pipe fixings
Underfloor pipes can be secured in no time with RECTOFIX, the RECTOR fastening system compatible with all our interlocking joists. Without the need for tools, it allows for simple, quick, and long-lasting installation of all types of pipes. Made of plastic, it limits losses.
• Support brace at the top of the basement
In basement joist assemblies, this accessory prevents the tongues from being crushed by putting the beam in direct contact with the prop and guarantees the aesthetics of the decorative underside.
GUARANTEED COMPONENTS
Because individual home builders must commit to the energy efficiency of the homes they build with complete peace of mind, the components of the EQUATIO system provide all the necessary guarantees, attested by current technical opinions and certifications.
• CSTBat certification of RECTOSTEN® interjoists.
• Certification of RECTOR prestressed concrete beams.
• RECTOSTEN® and RECTOLIGHT® floors under Technical Notice No. 3/06-500.
• THERMOLIGHT®, THERMOMAX® and THERMOSTEN® thermal bridge breakers under Technical Notice No. 20/06-111.
