Testo is innovating with the new testo 6448 insertion flow meter, designed for monitoring and tracking compressed air consumption, thus enabling leak detection and allocating costs per user.

Control and monitoring of compressed air consumption

Testo innovates with the new insertion flow meter text 6448, intended for control and monitoring compressed air consumption, thus making it possible to detect leaks and allocate costs per user.

Thanks to its design and accessories, it is possible to use the text 6448 in portable version in order to carry out measurement campaigns on different diameters.
A centering collar allows for optimized sensor positioning and installation requires no welding. The conduit can remain under pressure during installation or during sensor maintenance/replacement (under normal operating conditions). A ball valve ensures the installation is sealed when the probe is removed.

Patented recoil protection
The recoil protection of the testo 6448 flow meter ensures greater safety when installing the probe and combines three functions to ensure quality and reduce costs:

• recoil protection : The sensor can only be pushed in one direction during installation.
• sealing : thanks to an O-ring, compressed air cannot escape during installation.
• the optimized position : thanks to the millimeter graduation of the probe, the penetration depth and the optimized positioning of the sensor is possible.

The testo flow meters allow the following measurements to be carried out:
• leak detection,
• distribution of consumption costs,
• management of load peaks,
• Min.-/Max. monitoring,
• user-based maintenance strategy,
• exact dosage.

Technical specifications of the testo 6448:
• possibility of installation under pressure,
• measurement of flow speed (80 m/s or 160 m/s version) and display of flow rate (or consumption) and gas temperature,
• specific version for nitrogen or carbon dioxide,
• recoil protection and valve: quick assembly/disassembly of the probe,
• use in portable version (control possible on different diameters),
• great flexibility thanks to the different configurable outputs:
- analog output 4 ... 20 mA (4 wires),
- pulse output,
- 2 configurable switchable outputs (flow rate, consumption, hysteresis, NC/NO switchable output, etc.),
• integrated totalizer,
• user menu via display.
