Testo strengthens its European production with a new plant in Portugal

German group Testo, a global leader in measuring instruments, is continuing its growth strategy with the opening of a new production facility in Portugal. This €25 million investment aims to strengthen the resilience of its global supply chain, reduce its carbon footprint, and bring production closer to European markets.

New production structures for greater stability

Located in Albergaria-a-Velha, 70 km south of Porto, the new Testo production site, with a total surface area of 21,000 m2, includes production and logistics areas as well as a research and development department.

It will thus become the third pillar of the group's production network alongside existing sites in Germany and China, in order to sustainably improve global supply security. The focus will be on specific product lines, depending on the evolution of US customs policy.

A rise in power by 2030

The production unit will employ around 30 people upon opening and is expected to accommodate around 200 people by 2030.
Thanks to its modular design, the site also offers long-term flexibility for future growth.
