Theben launches its new programmable clocks

To protect against power outages, Theben has designed four programmable clock models with a 10-day battery life. These highly accurate timers can be very useful when programming a domestic hot water tank and display all time units for a better understanding of their data.

SYN and SUL programmable clocks with flippable segments: for more precise programming

Theben is launching its four new programmable segment timers, the SUL (with power reserve) and SYN (without power reserve) models. These mechanical analog timers, depending on the model, include time programs (4 minutes, 60 hours, or 24 days) and switchable segments of 7 seconds, 37,5 minutes, or 15 hours. They offer high-performance solutions in terms of accuracy, reliability, and quick connection. One application for these devices is, for example, to automate the switching on and off of a domestic hot water tank.

SUL clocks with power reserve

The power reserve of these clocks is approximately 10 days in the event of a power failure. Their drive system is a quartz-controlled stepper motor. The SUL 181 d model has a 24-hour setting disc (daily program) with 96 15-minute segments. The SUL 191 model has a 7-day setting disc (weekly program) with 84 2-hour segments.

SYN clocks without power reserve

The SYN 161 d and SYN 151 h clocks are equipped with a synchronous motor for driving. The former incorporates a 24-hour setting disc (daily program) with 96 15-minute segments, and the latter a 60-minute setting disc (hourly program) with 96 37,5-second segments.

Better accuracy thanks to time unit marking

All SUL and SYN programmable clocks now feature a dial on which the time units are written: days, hours, minutes or seconds (depending on the model). This makes setting and programming easier and more precise. For 24-hour programs, this helps avoid day/night inversion errors, such as the indication of 3 a.m. instead of 15 p.m., for example. All devices have a time display hand, except for the 60-minute dial of the SYN 151 h.

Very practical tilting segments

These segments are engaged by simply tilting. Positioned around the dials, they allow for reliable and precise adjustment of the switches. Depending on the clock model, the number of these segments is 96 or 84. One segment corresponds to 15 minutes (daily program), 37,5 seconds (hourly program) or 2 hours (weekly program).

Faster connection with DuoFix

The new SUL and SYN clocks also feature the DuoFix spring-loaded connection system. These single- or double-assigned plug-in terminals can each accommodate two conductors with a diameter of 2 mm², 0,5 mm², or 1,5 mm². With DuoFix, clock installation time savings of up to 2,5% can be achieved.

Manually modifying switches

Two buttons on the front panel allow you to change and view the switching mode at a glance. The first is used to anticipate the activation or deactivation of a switch, if, for example, the occupants plan to leave early or return to a building later. The second offers the possibility of switching from the "timer" position to "permanent ON" or "permanent OFF" to manage, for example, pumps, Christmas lights, etc.

Safety and assembly

In terms of safety, the clocks have a hinged hinged cover that can be sealed for added security. For installation, the devices are supplied in a standardized housing measuring 45 x 54 x 60 mm for installation in electrical panels (according to DIN 43 880).
