Warema SecuTex A2 flame retardant fabric
Optimal preventive fire protection
Accent 6" />
Fire safety is a vital issue when designing a building. The main danger doesn't come from the fire itself, but from toxic gas emissions. With its sun protection products made from flame-retardant fabric, Warema effectively reduces these risks.
A fireproof canvas for indoor and outdoor use
The most commonly used material for sun protection is polyester. Highly flammable, it releases toxic gases in the event of a fire and promotes the spread of flames. To optimally protect buildings from the sun and fire, Warema offers its SecuTex A2 fabric. Certified non-flammable according to DIN 4102-1, it can be used in interior glare protection blinds or external window blinds.
Protection against the spread of fire and combustion fumes
SecuTex A2 is a fire-retardant, silicone-coated fiberglass fabric. This PVC-free fabric is durable and odorless. This modern sun protection product helps create an optimal indoor climate. The aluminum-coated side reflects heat radiation while maintaining sufficient transparency. This system also helps keep the heat inside in winter.
Thanks to its low environmental footprint, Warema's SecuTex A2 fabric is suitable for use in sensitive areas. These sun protection fabrics have very low emissions, are washable, and are resistant to cleaning and disinfectant agents. This makes the fabric suitable for use in hospitals and canteens, as well as in private buildings for children's rooms and bedrooms.
Sun protection with added safety
Festo, a global leader in automation technology and technical and vocational training located in Esslingen, Germany, already relies on SecuTex A2 fabric. The all-glass facade of its automation center required a durable and high-performance system. Despite glazing with sun protection, the system is not sufficient to meet current regulations. Warema's anti-glare interior curtain made of fire-retardant SecuTex A2 fabric guarantees optimal sun protection. The heated air between the glass and the fabric is removed by the building's mechanical ventilation system thanks to the directed exhaust air flow. In collaboration with Hörburger AG, a supplier of building automation and building management systems, Warema has developed an intelligent automatic sun protection system: LonWorks® Aktoren Warema LONMSE 4M230I AP. When the sun is shining, the facade is automatically shaded, the manual control is locked, and the air extraction between the window and the sun protection is adjusted. The system thus manages thermal comfort and considerably reduces the energy input from solar radiation.
