It only takes two steps: open the Bosch Pocket Assistant app and scan the Bosch product or accessory packaging with your smartphone to obtain product information, including technical details and videos demonstrating its uses. This is made possible by a product recognition function that Bosch is using for the first time in this form anywhere. This function combines various image and text recognition technologies, thus delivering reliable results.

However, the Bosch Pocket Assistant app does more than just that: it not only recognizes the scanned product, but also provides recommendations on the most suitable accessories for the products.

Cloud-based solution: ability to view information anywhere, anytime
Information can be accessed anywhere, anytime. The Bosch cloud, which the app accesses, contains all the products in the current range. Bosch is leveraging the widespread availability of smartphones and connectivity options to offer professionals innovative, turnkey solutions.

Improved after-sales service and warranty: automatic registration for greater simplicity
Even managing after-sales services is simplified by the Bosch Pocket Assistant app, starting with registering power tools for the extended three-year warranty. Instead of entering data into forms (e.g., the product's serial number), all it takes is a scan with the Bosch Pocket Assistant app: the product is recognized and the data is entered automatically. It's just as easy for repair requests and registering tools for "TrackMyTools" (a cloud-based Bosch system for tracking and managing the company's work resources). Automatic registration saves time and prevents data entry errors.

The Bosch Pocket Assistant app is available now as a companion to the Bosch Toolbox app. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play store or the Apple App Store for smartphones with an Android or iOS operating system. Automatic registration will be implemented from May for both repair requests and "TrackMyTools" and will also be available as a free update.
