1st spatula-type decorative mortar system to be covered by a CSTB Technical Opinion

Polished concrete, a very trendy material, has been a real success for many years. Inspired by industrial design, this unique coating appeals with its raw, mineral appearance and offers a unique look for interior design. Dyed throughout, polished concrete offers a raw aesthetic and guarantees durability over time, without cracking or discoloration. The application of a high-performance finish ensures excellent resistance to wear, punctures, water, and stains.

Very versatile: it can be applied to both floors and walls in new or renovated buildings. It can therefore be perfectly adapted to all rooms of a residential home (kitchen, living room, bathroom, etc.) but also to premises open to the public such as shops, restaurants, museums, schools, etc.

The LUCEM Choc System, a very high-quality polished concrete that combines beautiful finishing and a high level of performance, is the result of a project led by the research and development laboratories of AD LUCEM and its partners PLASTOR, a professional brand of the V33 group and TECHNIQUE BETON.

This alliance of industrial skills has made it possible to obtain the Technical Opinion of the Scientific and Technical Center for Construction (CSTB). A true guarantee of quality and technical recognition that reassures specifiers and provides access to public markets.

 AD LUCEM
Manufacturer of millimetric decorative materials

AD LUCEM was born from the collaboration between construction and chemistry professionals. Founded in 2014 and based in Châteauneuf-sur-Isère, Drôme, the company offers construction and decoration professionals floor and wall coverings in millimeter-thick decorative mortars: troweled polished concrete, granite, and also metal coatings. With extensive experience on construction sites, AD LUCEM has been able to develop its application techniques and products to simplify and make their implementation more reliable.

AD LUCEM polished concrete is a millimeter-thick colored coating that can be applied to floors or elevations. It provides the same nuanced, mineral appearance as traditional polished concrete.

The industrial partnership with TECHNIQUE BÉTON, and its research laboratory, made it possible to design and manufacture the base of the spatulated decorative mortar, LUCEM Choc.
Easy to apply, with exceptional adhesion and resistance, LUCEM Choc offers a very beautiful final result with a polished concrete effect.

PLASTOR
Expertise in floor finishing and protection

PLASTOR, a professional brand of the V33 group and a specialist for over 60 years in the manufacture of finishing and surface protection products for professionals, is a manufacturer renowned for the quality and performance level of its products.

To protect LUCEM Choc mortar, AD LUCEM has partnered with PLASTOR. With its expertise in vitrification, The PLASTOR Research & Development center therefore worked closely with AD LUCEM and TECHNIQUE BÉTON to develop LUCEM Protect by PLASTOR, a two-component, water-based polycarbonate varnish. Its resistance to scratches and abrasion is exceptional. Stain-resistant, it has been specially formulated to protect LUCEM. It is available in 3 finishes: matte, satin, and glossy.

The test reports on LUCEM Protect carried out at CSTB attest to its competence in protection against wear, puncture, water and stains, which result in a UPEC classification: U3S P3 E2 C2.

Technical NOTICE of the LUCEM Shock system

Specifiers, and sometimes even companies, generally have a vague understanding of these coatings from a technical perspective. The systems encompassed by the generic term "polished concrete" are numerous and very different. They range from epoxy resins to trowelable mortars and tinted leveling compounds. This confusion has been the source of numerous claims that have cast doubt on the competence and reliability of these systems.

The project's goal is to provide safety, technical clarity, and site solutions to safely implement this system. The driving force behind this success was the industrial partnership that AD LUCEM brought together with TECHNIQUE BETON, PLASTOR, and HUSQVARNA.

The combination of technical skills and site expertise made it possible to propose a monolithic system where the different layers, materials, and varnishes are perfectly bonded. The fruit of this work was rewarded by obtaining Technical Opinion 12/17-1756_V3 from the CSTB.

The LUCEM Choc system is a global system 2 mm thick including the AD LUCEM acrylic resin-based primer, the millimetric LUCEM Choc mortar, and the LUCEM Fix and LUCEM Protect protective layers.

The LUCEM Choc system is thus the first spatula-type decorative mortar system with pre-tinted hydraulic binder to be covered by a Technical Opinion, which certifies a high level of performance in the face of a set of regulations (reaction to fire, environmental data, durability, etc.).

This coating benefits from a UPEC classification which allows it to meet market requirements.
