High-performance acoustics for the new Gérard Philippe hall (91)

After only 9 months of work, the Gérard Philippe hall in Sainte Geneviève des Bois was inaugurated on February 3rd! Alongside the architect Didier COURANT, the Accord Acoustique office carried out all the studies allowing achieve quality acoustics in this fully modular room.

To achieve this, Accord Acoustique created a 3D model of the room as envisioned by the architect. Through several simulations, this tool made it possible to select the solution that best optimized the listening comfort of the space while respecting the architectural choices (in particular, preservation of two brick walls from the old room).

Beyond the acoustic quality of the venue, the issue of potential noise pollution for local residents was also studied. Based on a study of noise propagation from the venue and its technical equipment, this analysis led to the definition of high-performance materials and equipment to ensure the peace and quiet of the neighborhood during performances.

On February 3rd, the venue was inaugurated in the presence of Michel BOUJENAH (actor) and Julien DREY (member of parliament for Essonne). The following photograph shows the interior of the venue during its inauguration.

 Beyond the architectural success of this project, a first orchestral rehearsal has already taken place. The musicians, when asked about the acoustic quality of the hall, were enthusiastic and told us how much they enjoyed playing in this completely renovated hall!
