100 Minutes for Life

For the 3th consecutive year, the OPPBTP, in partnership with the CCCA-BTP, is launching the 100 Minutes for Life campaign, aimed at all apprentice training centers. The objective: to make prevention a reflex from the very beginning of the careers of young construction professionals.

Raising awareness among construction and public works apprentices about the risks of their professions from the very beginning of their training. In this context, the OPPBTP, in partnership with the CCCA-BTP, PRO BTP (construction mutual and insurance company), and SIST BTP (inter-company occupational health services for construction) are launching a new 100 Minutes for Life campaign in the CFA (training centers). It will run from November 2 to December 16, 2011In total, nearly 100 CFAs, or more than 26 first-year apprentices, will participate in 000 events throughout France. New 2011 : the campaign opens to CFA TP and a dozen vocational high schools.     Four themes addressed   From the first weeks of their apprenticeship, young people will attend a 100-minute event. The event takes the form of a television show, hosted by an actor and an OPPBTP advisor. The main risks associated with workplace accidents will be addressed in a fun and interactive manner: falls from height, MSDs (musculoskeletal disorders), road risks, and those related to alcohol and drug use. In 2011, for the CFA TP, the theme of falls from height will be replaced by the theme of burial during trench work.     Prevention from initial training   This year, first-year CAP (vocational certificate), vocational baccalaureate, BTS (technical certificate in building), or public works students will be invited to participate. The campaign is aimed at all first-year students or apprentices discovering the construction industry because, for the OPPBTP, prevention is an integral part of professional skills. The key prevention messages will be repeated throughout the apprentices' curriculum by the teaching teams. They will also be promoted by the apprenticeship supervisors who, through the OPPBTP and CCCA-BTP partnership, will regularly receive practical information. Building on its success, the campaign will hold its 1th event this year. A dedicated website presents the issues and the campaign's progress, and includes a city-by-city schedule of events.   www.100minutespourlavie.fr
