UNILIN acquires Irish insulation board manufacturer Xtratherm

UNILIN, a subsidiary of the American group Mohawk, has acquired the insulation board manufacturer Xtratherm.

Based in Ireland, Xtratherm was founded in 1986 and currently employs 400 people. In summer 2015, it opened a new plant in Feluy, Belgium, producing insulating boards for the European market.

This acquisition allows UNILIN to expand its insulation board business in the UK and Ireland, as well as to broaden its customer base through additional distribution channels in several European countries. This makes UNILIN a key player in the growing insulation materials market. By combining the strengths of both companies, UNILIN will strengthen its market position and benefit from excellent logistics services.
