Viega, technical prowess in bathtub faucet products

Viega presented its new electronically controlled bathtub faucet products at ISH, the trade fair for sanitary water, energy and air conditioning.

The two new variants of the Multiplex Trio E combine the convenience of intuitive operation with striking design.

 These new variants – Multiplex Trio E 2 and Multiplex Trio E 3 – have two separate operating elements, whose ease of use allows them to be used both in private homes and in semi-public establishments such as hotels. Using these controls, the user can select the temperature and filling height of the bathtub separately. These settings can also be saved using a memory function and recalled at any time.

Created in partnership with the Artefakt Industriekultur design office in Darmstadt, this concept has already won over the professional world.

The Multiplex Trio E3 variant has already won the coveted title of “Design Plus powered by ISH”.

Two control elements

With both new versions, the user can select their preferred settings intuitively and clearly using the control elements.

With the Multiplex Trio E2, the desired temperature and faucet opening are selected using one of the controls. The second control is used to adjust the water flow and select the hand shower. The color and intensity of the light rings indicate the flow and temperature values used.

When pre-set, the electronic bathtub faucet monitors the water level and temperature. When the desired level is reached, the water supply is automatically shut off. This eliminates the need to monitor the bathtub while it is filling.

The Multiplex Trio E3 variant takes technical refinement even further by providing a display on one of the two controls. It not only shows the current water temperature, but also, with a light touch, displays a menu from which the user can select all other bath filling functions. The minimalist design deliberately emphasizes the qualities of the new digital technology.

Both bathtub faucets offer scalding protection and are equipped with a temperature limiter. To obtain water above 38°C, the control must be manually turned clockwise. However, one turn only increases the temperature by two degrees.

Ecological quality

One of the special features of the Multiplex Trio E3 is its statistics function, which shows, for example, how much water has been consumed over a given period. Combined with the flow limiter function, this allows you to save water and money.

Individual preferences, which can always be reused, now eliminate the need for often tedious temperature adjustments and multiple adjustments. Under these conditions, the bath water is neither too cold nor too hot.

All Multiplex Trio E variants can be mounted on the bathtub rim or in the wall with an optionally available installation kit. The actual electronic components are hidden under the bathtub or behind tiles. They can be combined with all electrical fillers, wastes, and overflows from the Multiplex and Rotaplex series.
