Ministerial visit to ACO for the signing of the ecological transition contract
Launched by the Government in February 2018, the Ecological Transition Contract is a tool aimed at supporting and assisting territories that are committed to an ecological transition that generates economic activities and opportunities.
Friday, February 7, Sébastien Lecornu, Minister responsible for Territorial Cohesion and
Relations with Local Authorities, accompanied by Emmanuelle Wargon, Secretary of State
with the Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition and Eric Lombard, Director General
of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, went to the headquarters of the company ACO France in
Our Lady of the Isle (27).
The ministers took advantage of their visit to Normandy to visit the production site of the company, which specializes in surface drainage solutions and pre-treatment of wastewater and runoff.
A trip that was part of the signing of the Ecological Transition Contract
(CTE) with the Seine Normandie Agglomeration community (SNA).
If ACO France was chosen as the official venue for the signing of this contract, it is because of
its joint approach initiated with Seine Normandie Agglomeration for the launch
of this ecological transition plan. Indeed, as a recognized player in the protection of
the environment, ACO France is particularly aware of environmental issues and
proves it every day, for more than 40 years, by offering solutions that work for a
more ecological and sustainable management of rainwater.
An involvement which is also reflected on the ACO France website where several concrete measures
have been implemented in favor of the environment:
- the training of 3 environmental referents responsible for implementing an action plan promoting
more energy savings in insulation, lighting and heating,
- the repair of the wastewater and rainwater collection network,
- staff awareness sessions on sustainable development,
- the participation of the ITII school (Institute of Industrial Engineering Techniques) in this project
ecological transition,
- strengthening waste sorting and reducing the use of plastic cups
coffee machines,
- the presence of beehives in order to safeguard bees and encourage biodiversity.
Other projects are currently in the gestation phase, with the objective of:
2023, obtaining ISO 14001 certification.
