Wavin supports the SO POP project in Saint-Ouen
In Saint-Ouen (93), on the outskirts of Paris, the new SO POP development from the COVIVIO property company uses Tigris M5 fittings and Wavin multilayer pipes. This building, with its unique architecture, has 32 m000 of offices spread over 2 levels.
with more than 4 Tigris M000 fittings and approximately 5 m of multilayer pipes
The SO POP project, scheduled for completion in the first half of 1, is located in a booming economic district. This new office building, with its iconic, rounded architecture, is being built on the former Citroën headquarters. The Tertiaire division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire was selected by the European real estate operator COVIVIO to carry out the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, high-voltage and low-voltage installations, and technical building management for this project.
« More than 4 Wavin Tigris M000 fittings and approximately 5 m of multilayer pipes will supply the hydrodistribution networks of these future offices. With so many fittings to install, the Tigris M5's ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT technology saves us considerable time on site and prevents unpleasant surprises during water supply. » explains Yvan Maurouard - SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire Site Coordinator.
More reliable and efficient water networks
Reducing the risk of water leaks and developing solutions for reliable and sustainable sanitary installations are at the heart of Wavin's philosophy. The company offers quality products that ensure a safe supply and proper distribution of water.
On the SO POP construction site, SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire is providing COVIVIO with a comprehensive solution in climate engineering and electrical engineering to simplify technical and organizational decisions and streamline the teams' intervention phases. Yvan Maurouard - SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire Major Project Site Coordinator - organizes and orchestrates the progress of all the construction trades on this site (around a hundred people in total). He explains why he chose Wavin solutions for the hydrodistribution network on this site.
« I have come across Wavin solutions through various experiences on other construction sites. I have obviously installed many other fittings, but Tigris M5 is truly different. On the new SO POP program of 7 floors and more than 32 m000, we have to install approximately 2 m of multilayer pipes and more than 5 fittings. The number of fittings to be crimped is considerable and we only have one water point in the columns on site. The visual markers and audible leak detection with air whistle of the new Wavin Tigris M000 fittings prevent us from major damage in the event of forgetting to crimp a pipe when filling the water network. This is very practical on a large construction site like SO POP because it is difficult to check each crimp one by one. It is a very significant time saver! Additionally, the Wavin multilayer pipes we used are corrosion-resistant and have extremely smooth walls that prevent limescale buildup. These Wavin solutions allow us to offer our customers a durable, high-performance network thanks to a reliable, long-lasting installation.
We also benefit from excellent project monitoring. The Wavin sales representative remains very available and provides us with solutions very quickly. This is important for a project like SO POP where we have a huge number of fittings to install. We also received training from the Wavin teams to explain all the best practices for perfect fitting installation. This training allowed us to answer questions from employees who were not necessarily familiar with the product and to show them how to properly visually inspect a fitting before crimping. »
Tigris M5, a global innovation
The Tigris M5 fitting from Wavin is one of the most significant recent innovations in terms of securing sanitary installations. Its special feature: being the only fitting in the world equipped with an integrated acoustic leak detection system.
Developed to meet the needs of installers, the Tigris M5 offers high reliability of connections to minimize the risk of leaks. To achieve this, it is equipped with ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT technology which, in the event of an uncrimped connection, emits a whistling sound during a pre-acceptance test carried out in air. This 80 dB whistle makes it easier to locate leaks, saving valuable time on site.
Another advantage is that using air during testing allows the installation to be kept watertight, preventing any damage due to frost on unheated construction sites during the winter period. Furthermore, the absence of water in the circuits prevents any prolonged stagnation before the work is received, thus reducing the risk of legionella developing.
And for even more safety when filling with water, The Tigris M5 benefits from the DEFINED LEAK system. The latter allows identification of any residual uncrimped connections thanks to a visible stream of water from 2,5 bars of pressure.
The Tigris M5 connector is a true concentration of technology that has many other advantages designed to facilitate the work of installers and ensure quality connections. As evidenced by IN4SURE technology which makes the tube visible at 360° at the end of its fitting. A clever window on the perfectly fitted tube allows for confident crimping. The patented EASYFIT hexagonal head also makes it easier to fit the fitting onto the tube, reducing the work effort.
Designed to provide optimum hydraulic performance, The Tigris M5 fitting from Wavin is equipped with the OPTI FLOW system which provides a large passage section for improved water flow. Pressure losses are reduced to provide the network with its full performance.
Finally, with Tigris M5 fittings, there is no need to acquire new tools. With the MULTI JAW process, the crimping plier profiles U, Up, H, TH and B are perfectly compatible and guarantee secure connections.
