XELLA ANNOUNCES A LAMBDA (λ) OF 0,08 W/mk

Xella further improves the performance of its YTONG Thermopierre single wall by lowering its thermal conductivity to a Lambda of 0,08 W/mk without altering its mechanical properties.

MONOMUR THERMOPIERRE FOR LOW-CONSUMPTION BUILDINGS

This new generation of single-wall block allows for unparalleled levels of thermal performance (inertia and thermal resistance of walls, correction of thermal bridges and air permeability of walls) to be achieved without requiring additional insulation. The single-wall block with Lambda 0,08 is therefore suitable for all low-energy, ecological constructions, both for individual houses and collective buildings. It is also positioned as a construction solution perfectly suited to meeting existing standards on the market (BBC-Effinergie, Minergie or Passivhaus).

WALLS WITH HIGH THERMAL INERTIA FOR BETTER SUMMER/WINTER COMFORT

The single wall with a Lambda of 0,08, because it traps millions of bubbles containing up to 80% air in its mass, is more insulating than any other masonry material.

It thus gives walls incomparable thermal inertia. Its use helps delay and dampen heat flows entering in summer and leaving in winter to ensure optimal indoor comfort in all seasons: a guarantee of substantial savings on heating and air conditioning. In addition, this Xella block eliminates the need to add additional insulation, a process that can penalize the inertia of walls.

INCREASED INSULATING POWER FOR PERFECT CORRECTION OF THERMAL BRIDGES

The intrinsic qualities of the Thermopierre single-wall with a Lambda of 0,08 allow for almost perfect correction of thermal bridges. This is a definite advantage when you consider that 40% of heat loss occurs through thermal bridges.

PERFECT AIR PERMEABILITY OF THE BUILDING

Improving the airtightness of the building allows you to control the airflow circulating through the voluntary openings (air vents) and to limit uncontrollable flows, sources of pathology, discomfort and energy waste. Xella's Thermopierre meets all of these objectives since it avoids the use of insulating lining, thereby eliminating a large part of the leaks located at the connections with the woodwork and ceilings.
