The new cylinder DOM rs Terra® This follows on from that with equipment meeting the highest classification levels of the standard DIN EN 1303: 2015, European reference for the evaluation of mechanical cylinders.

This standard measures, in particular, durability, corrosion resistance, key security, and resistance to break-in attempts.

The cylinder combines a nickel silver key with a specific groove and a mechanism patented until 2045. A hardened steel control plate prevents the insertion of non-compliant or modified keys.

In commercial or multi-family residential projects, this type of system meets the expectations of asset managers, security design offices and locksmith companies facing increasing requirements in terms of access control.

Enhanced resistance against break-in techniques

The DOM rs Terra® cylinder incorporates several protective elements designed to limit the risks of intrusion.

The system claims increased resistance to bumping, picking and drilling techniques thanks to the use of hardened steel pistons and pins.

These mechanical devices aim to slow down break-in attempts, a criterion that is particularly monitored in commercial buildings, collective housing or establishments open to the public.

The extended shoulder of the key also allows compatibility with the latest generation cylinder protectors, used to reinforce the protection of main access doors.

However, the overall performance of a locking system also depends on the quality of the door's installation, any reinforcement, and the strength of the door frame. A high-security cylinder alone does not guarantee complete inviolability of an access point.

DOM-Metalux offers the DOM rs Terra® in several variants to meet the different uses encountered on construction sites.

The double-entry version is primarily intended for the entrance doors of houses, cellars, or apartments. The half-cylinder is more suitable for key switches, garage doors, or panic exit lock modules.

The manufacturer also offers versions with a knurled knob, a free-bit function for emergency exits, or a priority key intended for establishments hosting sensitive populations.

The manufacturer also sells padlocks with two levels of security as well as cam lockers for lockers, changing rooms or technical hatches.

In commercial buildings, these solutions are often used in addition to main locking devices to secure secondary access points and technical rooms.
