New URBANÉA dumpster delivered by FAUN to the Le Havre metropolitan area
FAUN, the French leader in the manufacture of waste collection and urban cleaning vehicles, continues to stand out with its innovations. Specializing in "smart collection," the Ardèche-based company recently delivered an URBANÉA dumpster to the Le Havre metropolitan area, a model designed to meet the requirements of dense urban areas where access is difficult. This delivery is part of a long-standing collaboration between FAUN and the Le Havre metropolitan area, which has already integrated several FAUN vehicles into its fleet.
Revolutionary collection equipment for city centers
A lasting partnership with the Le Havre Metropolis
The Le Havre metropolitan area has been regularly using FAUN for the past two years to equip its fleet of household waste dumpsters. Until now, it had primarily relied on the VARIO model, prized for its versatility and efficiency. At the beginning of September, the URBANÉA dumpster, a benchmark in the "City Cars" range, was added to this fleet. The URBANÉA model was specifically designed to meet the constraints of the city center's narrow streets while ensuring fast and efficient collection.
An innovative design for optimized collection
The URBANÉA dump body stands out for its aluminum design, a material choice that offers several significant advantages. Unlike traditional vehicles of equivalent size, this dump body is capable of carrying a greater payload thanks to its lightweight body. The compaction system, also made of aluminum, guarantees exceptional robustness and longevity. These features are essential for local authorities seeking to maximize the lifespan of their equipment while optimizing its performance.
The URBANÉA is also equipped with a high-performance compaction system. Waste is compacted in successive layers, allowing for optimal filling of the container. With a payload capacity of 1.840 kg, the container can handle large volumes of waste, making collection more efficient and cost-effective for operators.
A vehicle designed for urban environments
One of the main advantages of the URBANÉA tipper is its maneuverability. Thanks to a short wheelbase of 2.750 mm and an overhang of less than 2 meters, it is able to easily navigate the narrowest streets without having to reverse, in accordance with the R437 recommendation of the CRAM (Regional Health Insurance Fund). This feature not only reduces the risk of accidents, but also improves the safety of the skidders, while increasing productivity.
The speed of collection operations is another strong point of this model. The emptying cycle of a container is completed in just 9 to 12 seconds, with the possibility of simultaneously handling one four-wheeled container or two two-wheeled containers. This time saving, combined with the reduction of strain on agents, constitutes a major advantage for local authorities.
A range adapted to all needs
In addition to the delivery of this URBANÉA dumpster, the Le Havre Metropolitan Area has already ordered 12 other vehicles from FAUN to meet its growing waste collection needs. These new vehicles include eight CITANÉAs, four other VARIOs (in addition to the three already in service), and one TERRANÉO. This order demonstrates the Metropolitan Area's confidence in the quality of FAUN equipment and its ability to meet local waste collection requirements.
Personalized support for better handling
FAUN doesn't just provide high-performance vehicles. The company also places great importance on supporting its customers. Thus, upon delivery of the URBANÉA dump truck, the crew responsible for its operation received specific training to ensure optimal handling of the vehicle. This training includes a two-hour session dedicated to the first collection, ensuring a smooth transition and complete mastery of the new equipment's features.
The continuous search for innovation in the service of the environment
The URBANÉA skip, like all FAUN equipment, is part of an eco-responsible approach. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lowering vehicle noise levels, and improving working conditions for garbage collectors are priorities for FAUN. These commitments, in line with local government objectives, reinforce FAUN's role as a key player in the ecological transition in the waste management sector.
The collaboration between FAUN and the Le Havre metropolitan area is a clear illustration of this shared desire to modernize and improve waste collection practices while respecting the environment and safety standards. The URBANÉA dumpster is proof that innovation can address urban challenges in a sustainable and efficient manner.
