1st PRIZE: ROSHEIM TOWN HALL (67) - Seb le Parquetteur Company (67) Sébastien Jariel - Company Manager
“After more than 20 years of experience in renovating, sanding and varnishing parquet floors, in March 2020 I decided to create my company Seb Le Parqueteur in Hersbach.
I prepare, install, repair, and renovate all types of parquet floors, regardless of their type. I work for individuals, businesses, and public spaces.
"The Rosheim town hall wanted to carry out rehabilitation and redevelopment work. The company Menuiserie Hoffbeck et fils responded to the call for tenders and was selected to participate in the project. The manager of this company often calls on my services, and this was the case for this project.
I worked as a subcontractor for the renovation of the herringbone oak parquet flooring in the reception room and wedding hall, with a total surface area of 250 m2, as well as the 30 m2 heritage room located on the ground floor. I used several grits for the different sanding phases (40, 60, 80 and 120).
After applying a coat of PRIM'SO Plastor hard primer, I applied a first coat of PUR-T®3 DUO colorless satin varnish, recommended by my Plastor sales representative. I lightly sanded it before applying the second coat. I prefer this finish because it reduces scratches and gives the wood a warm appearance. In addition, this water-based varnish is more pleasant to apply because it does not release any odor.
To finish the job, I used a 50mm roller. It's very practical and saves time on large surfaces. I'm very happy with the result.
With Plastor, I am sure of the result, I have been working with them since 2011. I am familiar with the quality of their products and the Plastor teams are attentive and very responsive. When I have any doubts, I don't hesitate to call my sales representative or the technical department. » Seb le Parqueteur 134 Grande Rue - 67130 Hersbach - Tel: 06 42 00 69 09 - www.sebleparqueteur.fr
2nd PRIZE: CAFÉ DE LA TOUR IN PLOËMEL (56) - Essentiel Parquet Company (56) Christophe CHESNAIS - Company Manager
"In 2019, I created my company, Essentiel Parquet, in Néant-sur-Yvel. We specialize in sanding and renovating parquet floors and staircases, for individuals, professionals, and communities."
"The owner of the restaurant Le Café de la Tour, located in the heart of downtown Ploërmel, had carried out extensive renovation and development work and it was through word of mouth that he contacted us. He wanted to renovate the chestnut parquet flooring on the ground floor and upstairs in the dining room, which represented 160 m2 of surface area.
To give the parquet floor a new lease of life, I completely sanded the surfaces before applying a coat of PRIM'SO Plastor hard primer. I then applied two coats of PUR-T®2 DUO colorless satin varnish. This satin finish brings out the natural grain of the wood.
During my training in woodworking, I used Plastor products. When I launched my business, I continued to work with the brand. I am familiar with the products, their quality, and the results they can achieve.
In addition, I have a very good relationship with my sales representative. He always gives very good advice and is responsive to meet my needs. When I place an order, it is processed as quickly as possible. » ESSENTIEL PARQUET 27 Grande Touche - 56430 Néant-sur-Yvel - Tel: 06 43 35 10 12 - www.e-parquet.fr
3nd PRIZE: BISCHOFFSHEIM SCHOOL (67) - Seb le Parqueteur Company (67) Sébastien Jariel - Company Manager
“The Bischoffsheim school was recently renovated. An extension was created to connect the two main buildings. I installed and varnished the oak parquet flooring in eight rooms (four rooms in each building). The parquet flooring was brand new.
The work was carried out in 2 phases with an area of 250 m2 then another of 350 m2. During the first phase, I cohabited with the tiler and the painter, also present on the site. For the parquet on edge, the strips were assembled and taped in standard format in the factory. I started by sanding very hard with grit 40 diagonally to remove the unevenness of the parquet strips in order to obtain a smooth surface.
The following sandings were carried out in the direction of the wood with 60 and 80 grit, then the edges were done with 80 grit. I used Plastor filler binder, mixed with very fine sawdust obtained during sanding with 80 grit, to fill the imperfections and gaps between the boards. A light sanding with 80 grit was necessary before applying the Prim'So Plastor hard base coat.
To apply the first coat of PUR-T®3 DUO colorless satin varnish, I used a 50 roller, which is very practical for varnishing large surfaces and the work had to move quickly. Between two coats of varnish, I lightly sanded the surface to remove impurities and raised wood fibers. I wanted a perfectly clean surface.
Then, I applied a second coat to obtain a smooth surface and a perfect finish. » PLASTOR products used by the winners - Filling binder The filling binder is a synthetic resin to be mixed with sanding sawdust, as fine as possible. It is intended for filling joints and imperfections in wood. It is also suitable for resurfacing wood floors on edge, end grain, strip or panel parquet, regardless of the species. It is compatible with all the colors and finishes in the Plastor range. - PRIM'SO hard base With a high penetrating power that allows it to form an ideal bonding base for the finish, the PRIM'SO universal hard base is compatible with all Plastor varnishes (water-based and solvent-based). Its pore-filling function neutralizes antioxidants to ensure perfect drying of all parquet varnishes.
Very comfortable to use, PRIM'SO dries quickly and has no unpleasant odor. In addition, it gives a light honey color to the parquet floor and is suitable for all types of wood, both new and old wood. - PUR-T®3 DUO varnish PUR-T®3 DUO Plastor is a two-component water-based polycarbonate varnish for rooms with high stress and public places. Made from a 90/10 mixture, it is very pleasant to apply. Greasy, without unpleasant odor and classified A+, it gives a good filling, a non-yellowing film and a long recovery time. It allows to preserve the light tone of the wood when used directly on raw wood. It is perfectly suited to new or old interior parquet floors or wood derivatives in all types of wood. Finally, it is formulated with 0% NMP (N-Methyl Pyrrolidone) and NEP (N-Ethyl Pyrolidone). 3 aspects: matte, satin and glossy.
