At Batimat, the Lorillard Group is showcasing its Meslina range at its stand dedicated to wood joinery (Hall 4 – G020). This series of windows and French doors is designed for heritage renovation projects, where respecting the original architectural features is often a constraint imposed by project owners, heritage architects, or building conservation services.
Made primarily to measure, the joinery incorporates traditional mortise and tenon joinery techniques , a method widely used in the 18th and 19th centuries. This design allows for the reproduction of profiles and proportions of antique structures while meeting modern expectations for insulation and comfort.
Expertise adapted to the most demanding configurations
The Meslina range is based on a structure composed of an 82 mm frame and a 59 mm sash. This design aims to preserve the aesthetics of historical joinery while offering a robust structure adapted to contemporary uses.
The joinery is available in oak or exotic wood, two species selected for their natural durability. It also offers a wide choice of moldings, glazing beads, and decorative hinges to suit the specific characteristics of older buildings.
Custom-made solutions also allow for the creation of complex shapes, including arched, curved, basket-handle, or semicircular openings. This flexibility addresses the constraints frequently encountered during the restoration of heritage buildings, where standard dimensions are rarely compatible with existing structures.
