Viega strengthens its presence in North America with a new factory and training center in Mantua

With an investment of approximately USD 178 million and a 20 m² manufacturing facility, the company is strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in the United States. Mantua becomes Viega's second production site in the United States, following McPherson, Kansas.

“Despite the current challenges, North America remains a key market in our growth strategy,” explains Markus Brettschneider, CEO of the Viega Group.

In particular, it highlights the strong potential of metal press fittings for plumbing and heating.

“The new Mantua facility brings us closer to our customers in the Eastern United States and Canada. Shorter delivery routes ensure better availability and faster response times.”

On-site production and training

In addition to production, a training center has also been established at this new site. It offers construction professionals and partners the opportunity to experience and test Viega systems in practical conditions. The Viega Group has 24 similar seminar centers worldwide.

“For us, it is essential that our customers receive not only products, but also the know-how necessary to use them optimally. Mantua combines production, training and consulting in one place,” says Marki Huston, CEO of Viega North America.

A strong commitment to sustainability

"This new site represents not only a further step in strengthening our presence in the American market, but also a pillar of our sustainability strategy," emphasizes Anna Viegener, Chair of the Viega Group's Shareholders' Committee.

With the Mantua plant, the company is aiming for LEED Gold certification—an international benchmark developed by the US Green Building Council for the environmentally friendly construction and operation of buildings. The group also aims to achieve carbon neutrality across all its sites by 2023.

Strategic investments in our sites

Walter Viegener, Chairman of the Viega Group's Partners' Committee, emphasized that this second American site is part of a consistent global investment strategy. Viega is currently building a new production facility in Kirkel (Saarland, Germany) at a cost of €150 million. By 2028, an additional €250 million will be invested in the modernization, expansion, and energy transition of the German sites in Thuringia and South Westphalia.
