Wall mounting in bathrooms: WATTS expands its range with three patented solutions

Solutions designed to meet the constraints of plumbers

Present for over twenty years in the wall-mounted faucet market with the ROBIFIX® system , WATTS continues to develop its product range for plumbing installers. The three new products announced follow on from the ROBIFIX® mounting plates and the ROBIBOX® recessed niche, with a common goal: to facilitate on-site installation while expanding bathroom design possibilities.

This equipment is directly relevant to plumbers working on new construction as well as renovation, particularly on plasterboard partitions where fixing constraints can complicate certain installations.

MOBIFIX® makes it easier to install wall-mounted furniture on BA13 partitions

Installing a wall-hung bathroom unit generally requires reinforcements integrated into the partition wall when it is made of BA13 plasterboard. This preparation involves several additional steps: opening the plasterboard, installing the wooden reinforcements, and then completing the finishing touches before applying the wall covering.

With MOBIFIX® , WATTS offers a mounting bracket that allows for the direct installation of wall-mounted furniture onto a plasterboard partition, even without wood reinforcement. This device complements standard furniture mounting and supports a load of up to 120 kg , including the furniture and its contents.

The system is compatible with furniture equipped with a classic hanging system using legs or hooks, with a gap greater than 37 mm , a minimum width of 60 cm , a cabinet height of at least 50 cm and whose bottom of the cabinet is located more than 13 cm from the floor.

The kit includes a two-part metal frame, seven expansion anchors for plasterboard (BA13), and the necessary assembly screws. According to WATTS, installation is carried out in five steps thanks to the integrated markings on the frame.

ROBISHELF® integrates niche and shelf into the tap installation steps

Shower design increasingly incorporates storage spaces. However, the available solutions often require the intervention of a tiler or involve drilling into the wall covering, with risks of cracking or leaks if the installation is not properly executed.

With ROBISHELF® , WATTS offers a solution designed for direct installation by the plumber. The mounting plates are fixed before tiling, at the same time as those for the faucets, to a plasterboard wall (BA13) using expansion anchors. After tiling, the niche or shelf finish simply snaps onto the exposed metal part with a silicone sealant cartridge.

This system allows the tiler to make cuts around the mounting plates without changing their installation methods. A 72 mm thick partition wall is sufficient to integrate the system.

Made from reinforced mineral composite material, ROBISHELF® shelves and niches are available in slate-effect, white 9003, or anthracite 7016 finishes to match most common shower trays. A slight slope also facilitates water drainage after use.

The range includes a niche measuring 38,5 x 35,5 x 8 cm and a shelf measuring 31,7 x 8 cm to accommodate the main hygiene products used in a shower.

ROBIFIX® SPACER adapts the mounting plates to double BA13 partitions

The third new product presented by WATTS, ROBIFIX® SPACER, addresses a configuration frequently encountered on construction sites: the installation of ROBIFIX® plates on double plasterboard partitions 25 mm thick.

The kit includes two spacers for moving the supply elbows behind the double wall, two 68 mm M1/2'' - M3/4'' eccentric fittings and eight threaded screws suitable for ROBIFIX® elbows.

This accessory is compatible with the different models in the ROBIFIX® range, whether it be crimp PER, sliding PER, compression PER, multilayer or soldered copper versions, as well as configurations with center distances of 150 mm , 50 mm or Mono.

A range that expands the possibilities for bathroom interventions

With MOBIFIX® , ROBISHELF® , and ROBIFIX® SPACER , WATTS is expanding its range of wall-mounting solutions for bathrooms, targeting several stages of the project: installing wall-hung furniture, integrating storage spaces in the shower, and adapting mounting plates to different types of walls. These three patented innovations will be officially launched in September and aim to simplify plumbers' work while allowing them to broaden the services they offer their clients.
