Inaugurated in March 2022 after work began in June 2020, the Toulouse Métropole Sud Funeral Center stands as a sanctuary of tranquility and contemplation. Located on former farmland, this site has been transformed into a place of final respect, respecting its natural environment and local sacred architecture.

Inspired and Respectful Architecture

Atelier Cube and Studio Zermani Associati, renowned for their expertise in religious architecture, designed this project by reinterpreting three emblematic elements of local sacred architecture: brick, colonnade, and cloister. TECHNAL aluminum profiles were chosen for their clean aesthetics and robustness, contributing to the solemnity and longevity of the building.

Ceremonial Spaces Designed for Reflection

The center houses three ceremonial rooms designed to offer peace and comfort to visitors:

• The Great Hall : With its capacity of 350 people, it is bathed in soft zenithal light, thanks to a GEODE glass roof, creating a solemn space for secular ceremonies.
• The Middle Room : Designed for 60 people, it opens onto a patio, allowing a harmonious connection with the outdoors and offering natural light which reflects on the brick walls.
• The Small Room : Designed for small groups or individuals, it frames a Japanese maple tree through a large SOLEAL window, providing an intimate and soothing atmosphere.

An Ecological and Sustainable Commitment

All TECHNAL solutions used in construction are made from Hydro CIRCAL®75R, a material composed of at least 75% post-consumer recycled aluminum. This initiative underscores Toulouse Métropole's commitment to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.

Architectural Recognition

In December 2023, the Funeral Center was honored with a special mention in the Work category during the PALMARÈS ARCHITECTURE ALUMINIUM TECHNAL, recognizing the careful work and the timeless and solemn appearance of the building.
